To that time travel part of the story, Curtis tackles it head on and very matter of factually. Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) is told at the age of 21 by his father (Bill Nighy) that he can travel in time. No bullshitting around, go upstairs in the closet, focus on a moment in time, poof you’re there. He reluctantly gives it a shot, it works, it’s part of the story, just accept it.
Limited Opening Weekend: $1,076,250
(#13 rank, 175 theaters, $6,150 average)
Domestic: $1,517,673 3.4%
+ Foreign: $43,200,000 96.6%
Next up, About Time. Another “nationwide expansion”, only this one I’m giving a generous 1,000 theaters based on pure speculation. Those figures get the film to $4 million, because I see a slight downgrade in per theater average due to less enforced scarcity.
