Jackie Chan was born Chang Kong sang on April 7, 1954, in Hong Kong, China. He began studying martial arts; drama, acrobatics, and singing at age seven. Once considered a likely successor of Bruce Lee in Hong Kong cinema, Chan instead developed his own style of martial arts blended with screwball physical comedy.

Jackie attended the Nah-Hwa primary school on Hong Kong Island, often spending his travel money on food and walking home, fighting on the way Caucasian kids attending special schools in the area. He was not academically bright failing to pass Primary 1 as his peeking Opera School, operated by shu Mater Yu Jan Yeun.Wlking in with his dad, Jackie saw tens of kids, between 7 and early teens, somersaulting and playing with swords and sticks. He recalls that he felt like kids must feel today on entering Disney Land. He would never return to academic education, he still cannot read and write with great proficiency.

After Lee’s suddenly death in 1973, Chan was singled out as a likely successor of his mantle as the king of Hong Kong cinema. A year after this all the release of his first bona fide hit, Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow, Chan took the Hong Kong film world by stom with his first called Kung fu comedy the now classic Drunken Master 1978 subsequent hits such as The Fearless Hyen 1979, half a Loaf of Kung Fu 1980 and The Young Master 1980 confirmed Chan’s star status.

In the early 1980’s Chan tried his luck in Hollywood, with little success. He starred in the Golden Harvest produced The Big Brawl 1980 which flopped ,he also had a small supporting role opposite Burt Reynolds in the dissappoininting ensemble comedy Cannonball Run 1982 and its equality mediocre. He formed his own production company, he also gained success in Hollywood soon , a clever remake frank Capra’s 1961 film A pocketful of Miracles.
